Data Collection and Usage:

We want to be transparent about how your data is handled:

Personal Information: Our app does not collect or store any personal information on our servers unless consented by the user.
Study Sets: Study sets created within the app are securely stored on iCloud. This is done with the purpose of synchronizing study sets across your various devices and facilitating the sharing of study sets with other users. Please note that iCloud is owned and operated by Apple Inc., which has its own privacy policies. Study sets will not be uploaded to the StudyDirect Network without your consent.
User Accounts: User Accounts are managed by Firebase, owned by Google Inc. User passwords are encrypted and not visible to us, but information, like the email and username you add for your account are visible. Please note that Firebase is owned and operated by Google Inc., which has its own privacy policies.
Study Sets uploaded to the StudyDirect Network: Study Sets uploaded to the StudyDirect Network managed by Firebase, owned by Google Inc. Study Sets uploaded to the StudyDirect Network are visible to the developers server, and in the app by any user. Changes made to a study set before updating them are not visible until you hit the upload button, then "Update".

Personal Information: Our app does not collect or store any personal information until you create an account. We do not want to collect personal information for the StudyDirect nor do we really care if we have it. The information is only required so we can let you use the StudyDirect Network and distinguish you from other users.
Study Sets (Not uploaded): Study sets created within the app are securely stored and encrypted to iCloud. This is done with the purpose of synchronizing study sets across your various devices. Please note that iCloud is owned and operated by Apple Inc., which has its own privacy policies.
Study Sets (Uploaded): Study sets uploaded to the StudyDirect Network are stored via Firebase. These study sets on the StudyDirect Network are not encrypted, so we can see everything on that study set. Study Sets uploaded to the StudyDirect Network. Please note that Firebase is owned and operated by Google Inc., which has its own pricacy policies.
User Accounts: User accounts are managed via Firebase. If you wish to create a user account, we cannot see your password; however we can see your email, and your username, including your streak and study score. We will not be contacting your email unless we absolutely have to. Please note that Firebase is owned and operated by Google Inc., which has its own pricacy policies.

Third-Party Services:

While we do not directly collect personal information, it's important to recognize that third-party services may collect and manage data differently. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the privacy policies of these services:

Apple iCloud: Apple Inc.'s privacy policy is relevant when your study sets are stored on iCloud.

Google Firebase: Firebase's Privacy and Security policy is relevant when you sign up for an account and upload sets to the StudyDirect Network.

Preference for Not Using iCloud:

If you wish to avoid using iCloud for storing your study sets, please review your device settings to disable iCloud synchronization within our app. When turning off iCloud for StudyDirect, your study sets will be saved locally on that specific device, and will not appear on any of your other devices.

Preference for Not Using Firebase:

If you wish to avoid using Firebase for the StudyDirect Network, avoid creating a StudyDirect account, and uploading study sets to the StudyDirect Network.

Changes to Privacy Policy:

We reserve the right to update or modify this privacy policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on our website or within the app in advance. Additionally, we will also notify via Discord of any privacy policy changes.
